Cougars Team Up with Canadian Tire for Mega Jackpot
Prince George, B.C. – Hockey fans should circle Jan. 20 on their calendars.
That’s the night the Prince George Cougars Society is partnering up with Canadian Tire for another mega jackpot 50/50 night when the Moose Jaw Warriors come to town.
Canadian Tire is buying $25,000 worth of PG Cougars Society 50/50 tickets to start the pot with all net proceeds from the draw going to the local chapter of Jumpstart – an organization that helps needy kids play sports.
“We acknowledge that participation in sports has a positive impact on children and youth,” said Canadian Tire owner Selen Alpay. “Through Jumpstart and our local chapter and agencies we have seen first hand the amazing and tangible results.”
Since 2011, he said the program has donated over $400,000 locally and impacted over 3,700 kids in our region.
If you’d like a shot at the jackpot, the doors at the CN Centre will open at noon on Jan. 20 for fans 19 years of age or older (and with tickets to the game that night) to stop by and purchase tickets for the draw.
Canadian Tire will be giving away one free $10 50/50 ticket to the first 2,500 fans. The first 1,000 people will also receive a free Canadian Tire water bottle with a money saving coupon inside. You must attend the game to win the draw.
This is the second mega jackpot draw for the Cougars this season. The first was held in November and generated a jackpot worth over $100,000 and drew a crowd of 5,272.
“There’s not much I can say about Selen Alpay and Canadian Tire and the amount of community support that they give to this town,” said Cougars business v-p Andy Beesley.
“Selen and his staff have been just remarkable supporters of the Cougars and we want to partner with those difference makers in the community.”
