Prince George, B.C. –  RCMP in Prince George are hoping the public  can help them  locate a woman  from 100 Mile House.

That community  has been evacuated because of the wildfires,   and  on  Sunday, July 16th,   RCMP in Prince George  were advised that  88 year old Maria Martha Watt of  100 Mile   had not been seen  in over a week and has not been in touch with loved ones  in ten days.

Extensive efforts to locate Maria Watt have been made.   A description of Maria and her vehicle has been provided to police officers at wildfire check points throughout the 100 Mile House area and to Detachments throughout the BC interior.  Her residence as well as all evacuation centres in the Prince George and Kamloops areas have been checked with negative results.  It is believed that Ms. Watt has not registered as an evacuee at any of the emergency centres.

Photos of Ms Watt are not yet available ,    she is described as:

  • Caucasian female
  • 160 cm (5’3″)
  • 66 kg (145 lbs)
  • Hazel eyes
  • Brown hair

She  may be driving a grey 2004 Honda CRV bearing BC licence plate 081 HCN and may go by the last name Lascelle or Lascelle-Watt

If you have any information about Maria Martha Waatt or where she might be, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or police of jurisdiction in your area.

Comments

I just read she was found safe at a relatives house in Abbottsford. Was reported on the 100 Mile Free Press FB page.

Glad to hear of a good outcome for once.
