Barton is coming off a year away from playing collegiate basketball. He played his high school basketball at Clarence Fulton Secondary School in Vernon alongside current UNBC player Joel Rybachuk before moving on to play two seasons with the WolfPack in Kamloops.
Barton will add length and versatility to the Timberwolves’ lineup. At 6’4”, he is an outstanding leaper and a strong defensive player. He also has the offensive skill set to play up and down head coach Todd Jordan’s line-up and will give the T-wolves the ability to put more size on the floor at the shooting guard and small forward positions when needed.
“Charles will be a great addition for us,” commented Jordan. “Personality-wise he will be a good fit with the guys and he has experience playing at the CIS level. He is a tremendous athlete and I think his abilities will complement our up-tempo style of play.”
Barton is the fourth major commitment Coach Jordan has received for next season. His recruiting class also includes 6’10” local product Kevan Madsen, 6’6” Gabe Aubertin of Kettle Falls,WA, and 5’7” point guard Billy Cheng of Richmond.
