Chip Truck Rolls In Quesnel

Quesnel, B.C.- The Southbound on-ramp of Highway 97 at the North Star Road in Quesnel was closed for over four hours last night after a semi truck towing a fully loaded wood chip trailer lost, control, tipping its load and spreading the load over the southbound lanes.
 
Crews were called in to clean up the mess along with environmental specialists who dealt with the spilled diesel and hydraulic fluid.
 
The 43 year old driver was taken to Quesnel hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
 
The crash is under investigation by the Commercial Vehicle and Safety enforcement branch. Speed is believed to have been a contributing factor.
