Prince George, B.C. – Good news for over 400 laid-off Wolverine Mine workers.
This after the Labour Relations Board ruled in favour of a complaint filed by the United Steelworkers against mine operators Walter Energy.
The board found that the company had violated Section 54 of the Labour Relations Code, which according to Local 1-424 president Frank Everitt means, “The Company failed to provide the 60 days required to discuss an adjustment plan. By doing so the company must now make up the monetary amount to all members of Local 1-424 workers at Wolverine Mine.”
